Google announced a new Conversational A.I. feature for businesses. The feature, Google Business Messages, allows customers to engage with businesses directly from Google Search and Google Maps results.

Business Messages is a mobile conversational channel that combines entry points on Google Maps, Search, and brand websites to create rich, asynchronous messaging experiences that delight customers and drive business results.
In typical Google fashion, there's plenty of data they've shared to back up their push for Conversational A.I. technology.
Google reports that businesses handle 2.3 billion customer service calls each year with a price tag of $1.3 TRILLION dollars.
When surveyed, 67% of Consumers say that they would rather message a business rather than speak with a person and only 3% of users say they enjoyed automated voice response experiences.
Google has played a key role in accelerating the latest "Mmjor shift in computing". However, it's been Consumers who are fueling conversational A.I.'s rapid adoption.
In 2020, Consumers expect conversational experiences to be asynchronous, automated, and assistive. AI has already proven to be an excellent technology for driving these experiences and will be a cornerstone in our everyday lives very soon.
